Transaction Entry
Introduction
The Transaction Entry (TE) module serves as the primary interface for entering deposits and withdrawals (including full withdrawals) within the Customer Access Portal (CAP). It provides a standardized method for initiating both single and bulk transactions across the R&T network.
Overview
This module facilitates the initiation of standard movement types (deposits, withdrawals, and full withdrawals).
In-Scope: Transaction entry, pending transaction monitoring, and posted transaction viewing.
Out-of-Scope: New account openings (handled via the Account Maintenance module).
Workflow: Entries may be subject to a dual-control Entry/Approval process if selected by the client, all entries are subject to a Status lifecycle before final settlement.
Transaction Types
The DDM Program categorizes activity into three distinct transaction types. Each type triggers specific validation logic regarding principal settlement and interest accruals.
| Transaction Type | Impact on Principal | Impact on Interest Accruals |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | Increases principal balance on effective date. | Does not impact Month-to-Date (MTD) interest accrual. |
| Withdrawal | Decreases principal balance on effective date. | Does not impact MTD interest accrual. |
| Full Withdrawal | Withdrawal of entire principal and interest accrual. (Principal settles day-of; interest at month-end). | Triggers a full withdrawal of the MTD interest accrual. |
Transaction Status & Workflow Lifecycle
Transactions progress through the following states in the Transaction Approval screen:
| Status | Definition | User Action |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Entry is saved but not yet verified | Edit (modify amount) or Delete |
| Processing | Transaction has been QC'd and is moving to the next stage of processing (Approx. 1-2 min) | Edit (modify amount) or Delete |
| Approved | Verified and waiting for the next system allocation | Edit (modify amount) or Delete |
| Posted | Finalized and settled. Records are moved to the Posted tab | View-only; separated by allocation time |
Critical Cutoff Times
To ensure daily processing, transactions must be submitted and approved by the current DDM Program Cut-Off Times.
