Overview

The Client Access Portal (CAP) is an online portal used by participating institutions to manage customer accounts and support day-to-day program operations. CAP provides access to account maintenance, transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting, rate management, and other operational functions.

Depending on assigned permissions, users may be able to:

  • View account information and balances
  • Open and maintain accounts
  • Manage account opt-outs
  • Update account rates and tiers
  • Enter and approve transactions
  • Confirm net settlement activity
  • Perform reconciliation activities
  • Access reports and bank statistics

Terminology

Within CAP, the term Account is used throughout the platform to describe customer account records and related account activities.

To remain consistent with the CAP user interface, this guide uses the terminology displayed within the application. Where appropriate, references to an Account should be understood to mean a Customer Account.

Examples include:

  • Account Overview
  • Account Balances
  • Open an Account
  • Edit Account

These labels reflect the names used within CAP and may differ from terminology used in other program documentation.

Access and Permissions

Access to CAP is controlled through permissions that determine which modules and functions are available to each user. Permissions are assigned based on job responsibilities and may vary by institution. Not all users have access to every CAP function.
